Checking Out on Capsule Hotel and Checking In TWD700 per Night Attached Bathroom GuestHouse in Taipei

2017

S2E Travel Story

Taking off from Malaysia Kuala Lumpur, Terminal 2.

Reaching at around 1am. I was wondering if I can take a 6 hour sleep from this capsule hotel(or container hotel).

Oops… It came up… fully booked. Let’s have a outside view from the glassdoor.

It looks cozy but it has always been fully booked unless you book it early.

Capsule hotels reminded me of a funny experience that a friend went for a hotel similar to capsule hotel. The space was no bigger than capsule or container hotel. A couple was making out next door. He could hear clearly and couldn’t get a good sleep.

For capsule hotels, my advice was trying this “stunt” (making out) at your own risk. For hourly-rated hotel (comparing with conventional hotel), capsule hotels rate is not cheap. Usually, tourists will only go for capsule hotels when they are desperately craving for a good rest. Imagining a big group of “zombies” (similar to Resident Evil scene, no joke) were trying to get good sleep in each cubicle, a couple was making out and making big noise...  One after another zombies were dragging their bodies, limping and slowly wobbling… to that source of noise, then drastically grab the couple’s legs and pull out… hard. Kicking and stepping hard on them and make sure there would be total silence for their bedtime. Not even the Capsule Hotel staff could stop them.

Of course, this was just a joke.

There was an off-peak promotion for Capsule. Free 3 hours Stay 3 Hours for Capsule Hotel.

Check-in anytime from 8am-4pm.

After 5 hours flight and one hour coach trip, I finally reached the guesthouse I have booked. Superb price of double room WITH ATTACHED BATHROOM with TWD700 per night, and it was only 3-5 mins walk to Taipei central area, SongJiang Nanjing MRT station! And there were any eateries and restaurants nearby. Did I just give you a WOW effect? Can’t believe it was real? Leave your comments and ask for it then!

It was a cozy, clean room but nothing fancy.

Free wifi, TV, hot shower, bathroom (with toilet paper) are provided. You need to bring your own towel and toiletries.

I know if anyone of you had this. I always feel very exhausted after flight. Maybe because taking flights making you closer to the sun, more exposed to the solar radiation. Usually after flight, I would lose appetite for half day or one day.

Having checked in, I unloaded my entire luggage and looked for food at night.

I like to walk into some alleys for food, trying to avoid big signboards, franchise or fast food restaurants.  Sometimes you will get surprised with some local home cooked foods.

Had a sweet sour chicken chop and mixed veggie rice. Personally, I loved the cucumber pickles. Crunchy, fresh, sour… it was appetizing after a tired flight.

Oh yeah, I met a Taiwanese Comedian named Xiao Zhong in that small restaurant.
