Travel Personal Safety Pre-caution – Speed Dial On Embassay Contact

You must be thinking that I am going to share with you how to pick the fun places with nice landscapes, tastiest cuisine or even packing tips first?

NOPE. Personal safety first!

Safety is always the first thing when it comes to travelling overseas. One of the Basic Golden rules is ALWAYS PUT YOUR COUNTRY EMBASSY NUMBER(located on your visiting country) ON THE SPEED DIAL IN CASE OF ANY EMERGENCY.

This should be the first Basic Golden Rule to be prepared but last to be used in case.

Foreign  countries are not your backyard or home country. There may be  religious, racial, cultural, legal or even local social behavior  differences you may not have encountered or experienced before in your  life.

I put this as the first Basic Golden Rule because you are  going the places you are not familiar with or things you might overlook.  It may be easier for you to relate that you can splash saliva all you  want on your friends’ faces in heated-up gossips about royals in pubs or  clubs in UK, but you would not want to try it in Thailand.

The  reason I list this as The First Basic Golden Rule: it may save you from  situations like robbery, pickpocketing, terrorist attacks, or even  accidentally caught in scuffles and offended some influential chaps.

The crucial actions to be taken if those situations happen are:

 1. Calling your embassy

2. Leave your name, personal identity number and where you are located (or landmark name)

3. If time allowed, briefly describe what happen.

When  I first started this website, I have been thinking what should be  covered as first Golden Rule for travelling. It has definitely been The  Safety First as the Rule of Thumb.  The recent 9 bombings happened on  Easter Day in Sri Lanka has strengthened my thinking more.

In the near future, I will share more on traveling on other special conditions.
